Discover Vaucluse, in the heart of Provence

Vaucluse is a department nestled inland, where the authentic heart of Provence beats. Here, the picturesque villages, often perched on the heights of the Luberon, will seduce you with their old-world charm, surrounded by breathtaking nature.

The Provençal landscape is drawn between the majestic mountains: Mont Ventoux (1912 m), the Dentelles de Montmirail, the Monts de Vaucluse and the Montagne du Luberon. These impressive reliefs coexist with vast wild plains and green hills, where renowned vineyards thrive.

In the north of the department, the Enclave des Papes, with its four villages nestled in the Drôme, adds a unique historical touch. Not far from there, discover Vaison-la-Romaine and the town of Bollène, rich in heritage.

The south of Vaucluse is dominated by the Luberon region, a true Provençal jewel which stretches from Cavaillon to Pertuis along the Durance, and from Rustrel to Grambois, at the gateway to the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence.

Vaucluse is distinguished by the diversity of its landscapes and atmospheres. From festive Avignon to the sweetness of the lavender fields around Sault, passing by the orchards and vineyards of Comtat Venaissin, each corner of the department tells a story.

The villages crossed by the Sorgue, such as L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue, Fontaine-de-Vaucluse or Pernes-les-Fontaines, are all oases of freshness. At the foot of Mont Ventoux, Maulaucène and Bédoin watch over the vast fertile plains, where fruits and vegetables are grown.

Vaucluse is also a land of ancestral viticulture, where the famous wines of Côtes-du-Rhône, Côtes-du-Ventoux and Côtes-du-Luberon are carefully produced. These vineyards, most of which are classified as AOC, offer prestigious vintages that enhance the local gastronomy. Among them, Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Gigondas, Vacqueyras, Beaumes-de-Venise, Séguret and Rasteau are among the jewels of the terroir.
